Across decades of composition, Stephen Melillo created music for spec films that never came to life. The films vanished. The music did not. It waited.

In 2026, Melillo unveils The Lost Scores of Stephen Melillo, a curated album of 15 music cues drawn from those unrealized worlds. Each piece has been fully reimagined with a new 2026 production, transforming early experiments and later works into a unified, powerful listening experience.

Some of this music began on ninety-dollar synth modules. All of it has now been elevated through modern production and collaboration, resulting in an eclectic yet deeply coherent collection that spans styles, textures, and emotional terrain.

Featured artists include Grant Maloy Smith, Jann Klose, Carrie McDowell, Derek Davodowich, Brian Kornfeld, members of the STORMWORKS Symphony Orchestra, the newly founded STORMWORKS Billy-Rock Orchestra, and Melillo himself, performing on instruments audiences have never heard him play.

The album is accompanied by a nineteen-page libretto that guides listeners through the journey. It reframes the diversity of the music not as contrast, but as continuity, revealing a single throughline, a message that binds every cue together: the soul of the composer.
